PROFILE
The Department of Psychology at the St. Teresa’s Arts & Science College, Mala started functioning from the academic year 2020-21 with the vision to be leading centre for the pursuit of knowledge in Psychological Sciences. At present we offer an undergraduate program in Psychology. The program emphasizes the integration of the scientific and professional aspects of the field. Students are exposed to the different aspects of psychology on a unique and diverse canvas to help prepare them to handle the innumerable opportunities and demands in the field of psychology. We provide the required resource and knowledge, thereby ensuring professional and personal success.
VISION
The Department of Psychology at the St. Teresa’s Arts & Science College, Mala aspires to be a nationally recognized leader in undergraduate and graduate education, where students, and faculty establish close collaborations to learn the scientific principles of behaviour and mental processes, to make significant contributions to the science and practice of psychology, and to produce professionals who serve the local, national, and global communities.
MISSION
The Department of Psychology recognizes and supports the overall mission of the College by providing students the requisite education for entry-level employment in the field. Additionally, in recognition of the diversity of the field itself, as well as the diversity of the students and their needs, the department commits itself
· To nurture students to become intellectually competent through scientific studies of human behaviour, emotion, and thought;
· To inculcate in students a sense of professional ethics, social responsibility, cultural sensitivity, and good citizenship;
· To contribute to public understanding of psychology and its applications in education and beyond.
